Sometimes video games don't matter..
« on: September 20, 2013, 01:48:43 PM »
Sometimes videogames don't mean squat.

Last night I was getting ready to settle into a short session of Dishonored on the 360.

Then my aunt / Godmother returned an earlier call I made to see how they're doing.

It seems her husband, my Godfather, uncle, and last member of my 'father's' family has prostrate and bone cancer. It appears that the prostrate cancer 'masticated' to the bones.

His wife survived ovarian cancer than was in an advanced stage where only 20% of women survived (about 10 years ago,) so maybe he'll survive, but his brother (my father) was felled by Liver cancer (5 years ago, about 6 months before my 4th open heart surgery) and his sister was felled by 2 heart attacks (the first didn't kill her, but she never recovered from the second one) previously to that.

Suddenly, I didn't give a damn that I missed out playing Dishnonored last night. I just took the game out of the 360 and shut it down.

First off I think the word you're looking for Paratech is "metastasized" which means the proliferation of cancer from one organ to another.Aside from that sometimes its just good to ignore games and focus on family, bad things happen and its important beyond words for family to support each other through these trying times.

Any updates on this? I lost my grandma and an uncle to cancer. It's really tough, man. My heart goes out to you. If you have good news, please share it. If the news is hard, know that we're here for you.

My uncle Larry is over with family this weekend, along with his wife Theresa. I won't know much until next Wed.

Unfortunately things got worse elsewhere. Charline's dad is in Pittsburgh. The area where he has cancer got infected.

We're having to take care of Charline's brother Jason. Its pretty difficult right now.

Charline's dad has skin cancer, they thought they got the cancer but the area got infected.

Just found out one of my fellow pinball hobbyists and podcasters has liver cancer. The pinball community is a really tight knit one, so everybody is feeling the impact of this one. It sucks, man.

I 'lost' my father to liver cancer. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
